Mercedes-Benz is a German name brand of automobiles that is currently owned by DaimlerChrysler AG. The company was first founded in 1926 when two companies merged.

Mercedes-Benz is one of the most prestigious brand names in the world. Mercedes’ past ties make it the longest and oldest produced automobile of all times.

The three star Mercedes symbol was designed by Gottlieb Daimler and represents the company’s ability to design vehicles for land, sea, and air. The symbol with the ring first appeared on a DMG model in 1909.

In 1998, Daimler-Benz and Chrysler created a “merger of equals” and created DaimlerChrysler AG. The Mercedes brand is famous for producing limousine type cars but shouldn’t be overlooked for their accomplishments on the racing circuit either. Mercedes has been involved in sports car racing and rally racing as early as the 1890’s.

Mercedes’ dealerships are available worldwide in over 130 countries. Mercedes even offers a European delivery option. The European delivery option may work in the buyers favor and work toward keeping costs down.

There are several popular models available today including the Mercedes CLS, CLK, A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, M-Class, S-Class, SL-Class, GL-Class, SLK, Viano, CL-Class, B-Class, and the R-Class.

The Mercedes CLS is a full-size luxury car assembled by Daimler-Chysler. The car is available as either a four-door coupe or as a fastback. The CLS is available with either a V6 engine, a choice of V8 engines, or with a diesel engine option. The CLS line was first produced in 2004 and production continues to date.

The Mercedes CLK is a mid-size luxury car with rear-wheel drive. The CLK is available as a two-door coupe or as a two-door convertible. The car was first produced in 1998 and production continues to date.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a supermini. The A-Class is available as either a three-door hatchback or as a five-door hatchback. Production first began in 1997 and was stopped in 2005.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is an entry level luxury car. The C-Class has been produced in two generations with the third generation expected to begin production in the spring of 2007. The C-Class was preceded by the by the Mercedes-Benz-Benz 190. Production began in 1993 and continues to the present.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a mid-size luxury car. The current model replaced the 400E and the 500E. Production began in 1995 and continues to the present.

The Mercedes-Benz M-Class is a four-door SUV. The M-Class comes as a four-door wagon and offers a choice of several V6 and V8 engine options. The M-Class was first produced in 1997 and production continues to date.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a large luxury four-door sedan. The Mercedes-Benz-Benz S-Class has a long history with production beginning in 1954 and continuing to the present. Recent S-Class models include the W140, the W220, and the W221.

The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is a full-size luxury cross-over SUV. The GL comes as a five-door wagon and a V8 engine. Production of the Mercedes-Benz GL began in 2007 and continues to the present.

The Mercedes-Benz SLK is a luxury roadster. The SLK comes in two-door coupe or two-door convertible form. The SLK was first produced in 1997 with production continuing to date.

The Mercedes-Benz CL-Class is a grand tourer. The two-door coupe comes with several choices of a V8 or V12 engines. The CL-Class has been produced from 1998 to the present.

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class is a compact MPV. The B-Class comes with a choice of six engines. The B-Class is front-wheel drive and has been produced since 2005 to the present.

The Mercedes-Benz R-Class is an MPV cross-over SUV. The R-Class is available with a wide range of engine choices including a diesel option. The five-door wagon was first produced in 2006 with production continuing to date.
