Kia Info

Kia Motors, founded in 1944, is Korea’s second largest car manufacturer. Following years of mediocrity, Kia began making credible cars in the 2000s, worrying many of the established European manufacturers. Modern Kias offer high levels of quality, good looks and excellent reliability at a competitive price and, in addition to this, all Kias come with a seven year fully transferrable warranty, making them an excellent choice on the used car market.

The Kia Picanto is an excellent city car, offering good value for money, decent looks and a high quality interior. Launched in 2004 and replaced with an all-new model in 2011, the Picanto is one of the best small second-hand cars you can buy.

The Rio is Kia’s offering in the supermini segment. Introduced in 2001 and replaced with new models in 2005 and 2011, it’s the post-2005 Rios which offer the best all-round package. Good looking, cheap to run and cheap to buy, the Rio is a convincing proposition on the used car market.

The Kia Soul (launched in 2008) is a small MPV. A range of good engines, excellent levels of practicality and interesting looks make the Soul a good second-hand buy.

The Kia Cee’d was introduced in 2007 and replaced with a new model in 2012. The Cee’d, and its coupe sibling, the Pro-Cee’d, make excellent used buys thanks to their excellent engines, sharp drive and family car practicality.

Other popular used cars in the Kia range include the Sorento 4×4 (introduced 2003, replaced 2009), the Sportage 4×4 (introduced 1995, replaced 2005 and 2010), the Optima executive car (introduced 2012), the Carens MPV (Introduced 2000, replaced 2006) and the Sedona MPV (introduced 2006).
